The Tartan Artisan Hi, I'm Steve from Arbroath, east coast of Scotland, and I really love tartan!
As a designer, and artist, I love the variety ...the complexity ...and the simplicity ...of tartan. The countless variations of colours and geometric patterns just boggle my mind. Tartan became a passion of mine a few years ago, in 2009, when I became interested in my own family tartans... Sim being a Sept of Clan Fraser, with currently 30 registered tartans. I discovered that there are on average 150 new tartans registered annually at the Scottish Tartan Register in Edinburgh Scotland, making tartan design still very much a modern trend.
